Iris: The World – classic tarot-powered fantasy MMORPG returns free-to-play on Steam in Q1 2027
Steam store page now live, wishlists open
IndigoWare and Eyasoft are bringing the classic fantasy MMORPG Iris back online as Iris: The World, a free-to-play release for Windows PC on Steam. The Steam store page is live today and players can add the game to their wishlist ahead of launch in Q1 2027.
Set on the continent of Anais, Iris: The World follows the expeditions sent out from the small fortress of Terminus to recover the shattered Ipinidas Rune. Long ago the prodigy mage Shuland Acrein broke the Rune, became the Dark Lord and summoned the Sahar through rifts between dimensions. Twenty-two archmages sealed him away, but his dying curse took their magic. Ever since, they have fought with the power of tarot cards instead.
Key features
- Three races, six classes: Humans (Fighter, Mage), Elves (Ranger, Shaman) and Hybrids (Warrior, Rogue), each branching into advanced jobs such as Knight, Templar, High Priest, Assassin, Elementalist and Champion.
- The power of the tarot: 22 Major and 56 Minor Arcana sit at the heart of the game. Slot cards to unlock powers, enhance your gear, or open a fortune-telling stall and read other players' fortunes to grant them blessings.
- Monster transformation: become the monsters you hunt, taking on a creature's speed and three of its skills while keeping your own stats.
- Theme dungeons and PvP: instanced dungeons that begin and end with a tarot card, Survival and Capture the Flag battlefields, and duels anywhere.
- A living world: guilds with custom emblems, player trading, personal shops, an auction house, mounts, titles and more.
Availability: Iris: The World will be free-to-play on Windows PC via Steam in Q1 2027.
